Instructions for Use

Subtracting 4-Digit Numbers prompts your child to use a paper and pencil to subtract from a 4-digit number.

To use Subtracting 4-Digit Numbers, click the 'Start Subtraction' button. Using paper and a pencil, p lace the number to be subtracted below the first number so that the thousands, hundreds, tens and ones places are aligned. Draw a line under the bottom number. Subtract the bottom place digits from the top ones and regroup where necessary. When you have finished subtracting the numbers using a paper and pencil, input your answer in the text field and click 'Check'.
