4 – Dividing 2 Digits by 1 Digit
To encourage your child to have
fun on the Web while learning about Dividing 2 Digits by 1 Digit, here
are some games and interactive activities they can do on their own or
in pairs.
Goal
Use base ten blocks and pencil and paper to divide
a 2-digit number by a 1-digit number.

Instructions for Use
Division
using Pictures lets your child explore and practice division by using
pictures.
To use Division using Pictures, click
‘Show Me’. This option lets your child explore the result
of dividing one number by another by dragging the slider to the left of
the grid. A dividend is given and, by adjusting the slider, the quotient
and the remainder change within the grid in the corresponding equation
to the right. The numbers below and to the left of the grid represent
the number of blue boxes in the grid. The red blocks represent the remainder
in the given equation.
Click on the “Test Me’ to solve division problems. Use the
slider to create an array to represent the division problem. Input the
answers in the text boxes and click ‘Check’ to see if they
are correct.
