Lesson 6 - Multiplying with an Algorithm

To encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about Multiplying with an Algorithm, here are some games and interactive activities they can do on their own or in pairs.

Instructions for Use

Base Ten Blocks allows students to visualize the area represented by the multiplication with an algorithm.

To use Base Ten Blocks, click the place value backdrop. Click on a block and drag it into the workspace. Select a block by clicking on it. Once selected, the block can be moved to any location on the workspace. To remove a block, drag it to the recycling bin. Click on the tools on the top panel to select and drag, rotate, lasso blocks to group them, break larger blocks into the next size down, or glue smaller blocks to form the next size up.
